You can insert several special characters (in the form of HTML entities) using the Characters panel of the Object palette.
To insert a special character into a document:
1 | In the Document window, place the insertion point where you want to insert a special character. |

Choose the name of the character from the Insert > Characters submenu. |

Open the Object palette (by choosing Window > Objects), select the Characters panel, and choose a character from the list. |

There are many other special characters available; to select one of them, choose Insert > Characters > More and select a character, then click OK.
